چکیده

I. Abstract Previous studies and empirical evidence suggest norovirus outbreaks in California exhibit correlation with environmental variables and exhibit spatial spread patterns. Few studies have been done looking at what causes norovirus seasonality in temperate climates and more research is needed on the regional level. This study aims to find what relationships exist with outbreak occurrence and environmental variables in California, as well as any spatial patterns of spread or clustering of outbreaks. Spatial analysis tools were used to find any relationships between California norovirus outbreak data and environmental variables. The results showed a south to north spread of outbreaks in California and potential correlation with outbreaks and lower temperatures and higher relative humidity. More research is needed to substantiate the correlation with outbreaks and environmental variables. Table 1 Advantages and disadvantages for various methods of testing for norovirus Figure 1 Shows direct and indirect transmission potential of norovirus over time. BLOCKIN 15 Figure 3 This graph shows how syndromic surveillance can help with early detection of an outbreak.

Modeling and Prediction of Oyster Norovirus Outbreaks along Gulf of Mexico Coast.

BACKGROUND Oyster norovirus outbreaks often pose high risks to human health. However, little is known about environmental factors controlling the outbreaks, and little can be done to prevent the outbreaks because they are generally considered to be unpredictable. OBJECTIVE We sought to develop a mathematical model for predicting risks of oyster norovirus outbreaks using environmental predicto...

A Narrative Review of Norovirus Gastroenteritis: More Global Attention Is Needed

Noroviruses (NoVs), an important pathogenic agent of foodborne illness, lead to acute and chronic gastroenteritis in humans of all ages and to travelers’ diarrhea. Many genotypes exist in nature; GII.4 is widely known as the most predominant. Outbreaks mostly occur in semi-closed settings. Although the disease is self-limited to person, many cases have resulted in death, which has raised more c...

Risk Prediction of Leptospirosis by Considering Environmental Factors in Iran Using MAXENT Model

The global burden of leptospirosis as a fatal zoonotic disease is increasing all over the world [1]. As there is not any significant decrease in yearly reported cases trend in Iran and potential spatial distribution of leptospirosis remain unknown in national level, we tried to figure out the geographic distribution pattern of leptospirosis in all parts of Iran. The aim of this study is produci...

Assessment of Terrain and Land Use/Land Cover Changes of Mine Sites using Geospatial Techniques in Plateau State, Nigeria

In this paper, we report a geospatial assessment of the selected mine sites in the Plateau State, Nigeria. The aim of this work is to determine the impact of mining on the terrain as well as the Land Use/Land Cover (LULC) of the host communities. The Shuttle Radar Topographic Mission (SRTM) is used for the terrain mapping. The derived impact of mining on LULC between 1975 and 2014 is determined...
